Cover Reveal: Empire of Storms by Sarah J Maas

I interrupt my own regularly scheduled blog post for some super exciting book news! The cover for Empire of Storms– the next book in Sarah J Maas’ Throne of Glass series- was revealed at Book Expo America yesterday!

Confession: I haven’t actually read Throne of Glass yet. I OWN it, and it is currently sitting second in line on my TBR shelf, just behind A Court of Mist and Fury (which I am so excited to read I could cry, but it’s not supposed to be delivered until Tuesday. *sigh*), but I just keep not getting around to it. This summer, though, for sure. Honestly, after A Court of Thorns and Roses I’ll read anything with Sarah J Maas’ name on it pretty much without question.

But enough about me and my consistent failure to get caught up on one of the most popular YA Fantasy series in existence right now. Let’s get to the covers!

*Drum roll*

Empire of Storms UK Cover revealed Throne of Glass Sarah J Maas

Empire of Storms will be published on September 6, 2016.

I haven’t even read this series yet and I’m still in love with this cover. Though, to be honest, I kind of like the UK cover better than the US one. I like the sharp contrast of the white background, though I also understand that the grey/blue background of the US cover is meant to create a stormy look to compliment the title. Thematically I love them both, but from a purely visual standpoint I am going to have to go with the UK version. Anyone from the UK wanna do a swap when it comes out? (Seriously I will definitely be caught up by then. Swear it.)

What do you all think of the Empire of Storms cover; is it better or worse than some of the previous covers from the Throne of Glass series? And which of the 2 versions of the book cover do you like better?

  • I totally agree with you on this! Love the second one. Might have to see if Amazon will have it and order it to me. Lol.

I’m so behind in my book reading that I hope to get caught up by the end of summer. (Hopeing.)

Perhaps it’s the fact that I really like a stark white background for a more aesthetic feel to it. I dunno… Haven’t read the series, but I will tell you sometimes I judge a book by it’s cover and pick them up just on that fact alone. :B
