Indigo League #ReadThemAllThon TBR

Today is the beginning of the Indigo League #ReadThemAllThon hosted by Aentee from Read At Midnight and I am so excited to be participating!

There are 8 challenges for this read-a-thon, each based on one of the 8 badges trainers must earn in the Indigo League. By completing the challenges and reading as many pages as possible, participants level up their chosen pokemon. Whoever has the strongest pokemon by the end of the 3 weeks wins. You can find all the details for the Read-a-Thon and how the point system works here!

Now onto the fun part- what books and pokemon I’ve chosen!

Because of how the point system works, a pokemon with 3 evolutionary stages has the most potential. And out of all of my starter pokemon, my adorable Fennekin from Pokemon X is the nearest and dearest to my heart.

As I said, we all had to choose 8 books for the #ReadThemAllThon, one for each gym badge. Here are my choices!

ReadThemAllThon TBR

I was already determined to binge my way through the rest of the Throne of Glass series this month so I could read Empire of Storms with everyone else when it comes out next month. I was so excited to be able to fit all 3 of them into these challenges!

Okay, let’s break it down.

1. Pewter City : Boulder Badge – First Book in a SeriesReadThemAllThon-Badge01-Boulder

For this badge I will be reading Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo. I absolutely loveSix of Crows, so I can’t wait to dive back into the Grishaverse!

372 Pages – Potential +37CP

2. Cerulean City: Cascade Badge – A Book that Might Make You CryReadThemAllThon-Badge02-Cascader

Full disclosure: pretty much any book has the potential to make me cry. I get very invested and emotional and I’ll cry whether a book is super happy or super sad. You should have seen me reading A Court of Mist and Fury.

Anywho, for this badge I’ve decided to read Shine by Lauren Myracle. I’ll let you know if it manages to start the waterworks!

350 Pages – Potential +35CP

3. Vermillion City: Thunder Badge – A Book with Thunderous Hype

For this badge I will be reading Heir of Fire by Sarah J Maas. Obviously I will not be completing these badges in order, as I still have to read Crown of Midnight first!

576 Pages – Potential +57CP

4. Celadon City: Rainbow Badge – A Book Featuring Diversity

To earn my Rainbow Badge I will be reading A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. I read The Kite Runner in high school years ago, and have been wanting to read this book pretty much ever since. Excited to finally have something pushing me to read it!

372 Pages – Potential +37CP

5. Fuschia City: Soul Badge – A Book with an Epic Romance

I made my choice for this badge entirely based on reviews. I know it is not a romance book exactly, but everyone says it has one hell of an OTP, and I also have wanted to read it for ages. So for my Soul Badge, I will be reading
The Crown’s Game
 by Evelyn Skye.

399 Pages – Potential +39CP (SO CLOSE ARE YOU KIDDING?!)

6. Saffron City: Marsh Badge – A Book with Fantasy or Supernatural Elements

No one will be surprised to learn I will be reading Crown of Midnight by Sarah J Maas for this particular badge. This is the badge I will be earning first, and I am so excited!

418 pages –  Potential +41CP

7. Cinnabar Island: Flame Badge – A Book with a Read Cover

Finally, finishing out my binge read of the Throne of Glass series, I will be reading Queen of Shadows for my Flame Badge. I still remember people losing their shit over this book last year, so needless to say I’m excited to finally get to it.

648 Pages – Potential +64CP

8.  Viridian City: Earth Badge – A Book with Post-Apocalyptic Settings

Lastly, for my Earth Badge I will finally be reading The Young Elites by Marie Lu. I know. I’m years behind again. But I’m making a very real effort to catch up!

355 Pages – Potential +35CP

Challenge Totals:

Pages: 3,490

Potential +CP (including +20 bonus for finishing each book): 509

That’s it! Those are my selections for the Indigo League #ReadThemAllThon. Between you and me, I’m actually hoping to ready even one more book, but I start my fulltime job tomorrow, so we’ll just have to wait and see how this plays out. At the very least, if I manage to finish all 8 books I’ll have enough points to evolve my Fennekin into a Delphox by the end!

Are any of you participating in the #ReadThemAllThon? Let me know what pokemon and books you chose!
